Routt County Fair Information

  • Check Deductions -here is a LINK to the Jr Livestock Sale Committee letter explaining the 2022 deductions:
    • Poultry, Rabbit, Sheep, Goat Deductions: $32.82
    • Beef Deductions: $35.11 (includes brand inspection)
    • Swine Deductions:  $55.80 (includes pork check-off)
  • Market Prices – (used for the sale and can be used in record book calculations):
    • Beef $1.45/lb
    • Pig $1.36/lb
    • Sheep $1.58/lb
    • Goat $1.67/lb
  • Buyer Thank You Confirmation (and delivery of processed small poultry/rabbit) – to be signed by your buyer when you deliver their framed buyer photo.

  • NEW – thanks to our amazing sponsors Alpine Bank and The Paoli Group the Bobby Robinson Sr. Memorial Community BBQ will be FREE for all attendees this year.
  • NEW – Saturday night, after the Jr. Livestock Sale, is the Ned Ledoux concert.  4-H/FFA members can attend this concert for FREE.  You must have a special wrist band, be a 4-H/FFA member and stand in the designated 4-H/FFA area which will be for youth only.  (If a parent wants their youth to sit with them, then the youth would need to buy a ticket to sit in grandstands.)

Jr. Livestock Sale Committee Update  (updates brought to you by the Jr. Livestock Sale Committee)

  • Important changes to the Junior Livestock Sale Rules for 2022 LINK
  • If you have questions about the rules, please address them to the Junior Livestock Committee:  (Adonna Allen, Becky Heid, Jeannie Jo Logan, Kristen Corriveau, Kathy Yeiser, Belinda Rossi, Jay Whaley, Renee & Kody May, Justin Warren, Lane Iacovetto).

  • Junior Livestock Sale committee meetings are open to the public and always held the first Tuesday evening of the month at 6pm at the Trout Creek Room (down the hall from the Extension Office).
  • April 14 Jr. Livestock Sale Committee Update:
    • There are a couple of changes to the Junior Livestock Sales rules that are important for 4-H members to know now, long before the sale date. Please refer to the complete rules at THIS LINK and pay particular attention to:
    • Rule 13: Each exhibitor may sell only one large animal (steer, sheep, goat, or swine) and one small animal (one pen of market poultry or one pen of market rabbit), unless you win Grand and/or Reserve then you may get to sell more animals per rule 14.
    • Rule 27: Each consignment in the sale (ie. 1 large animal or a pen of small animals) will pay a fee of up to $115 per consignment. This money will be deducted from the sale check and used to cover Routt County Junior Livestock Sale expenses.

Career Summary

Every 4-H member should keep a 4-H Career Summary starting with their first year in 4-H.  This is a great way to track your projects, demonstrations and community service projects.  And – maybe you will be nominated as an Outstanding 4-H Members and will need to complete a Career Summary.
